Today in class we started taking notes on dilations and finding the scale factor. The notes and the homework assignment are posted below.
Today in class we took the Unit 1 Test.
Tomorrow in class you will get a progress report printout that shows all missing assignments. You may submit missing assignments for a late grade up until Friday September 8th. After this time, all Unit 1 missing assignments will become permanent zeros. For the first half of class we went over questions you had from Review #1. The second half of class you worked on Review #2. This is the one you will turn in for a classwork grade. Make sure you know all the transformation rules before tomorrow's test.
Today in class you worked on Review #1. Come to class tomorrow with this completed and with problems circled you would like to go over. Unit Test is on Wednesday.
At the beginning of class today you turned in the homework that was due on Thursday (Mapping One Figure to Another Figures - 6 problems). We then went over notes on mapping images back to themselves. At the end of class we reviewed our rules for transformations. Today in class you worked on a rotations and mappings review. Tomorrow in class we will learn about mapping a figure back to itself. Unit 1 Test is scheduled for Wednesday.
At the beginning of class we spent time going over homework questions. We reviewed rotating around points that were not (0,0). We then learned how to map figures onto other figures using a series of transformations. If you did not finish the practice sheet in class, this is your homework.
Last week we mastered rotations around the origin. Today we extended the concept of rotations to now rotating around a point that is not the origin. Posted below is your homework assignment for tonight. You will have a graded assessment over rotations not about (0,0) this week.
Today in class we watched the NASA live stream of the solar eclipse.
Tomorrow we will be starting an activity where you examine check digits and their significance. Today in class you took a quiz over Transformations. You will get these quizzes back on Tuesday.
Tentatively, our Transformations test is scheduled for Wednesday, August 30th. Make sure you are practice a couple problems every night even when I do not assign homework. |
