Today we jumped into the exciting world of proofs! We first filled in our Geometry Toolbox. Be sure to keep that in a safe place. We then filled in some of the basic proof notes. I have uploaded a picture below of the notes for you to check after you practice the ones we did not get to in class.
Today you had first half of class to catch up on the parallel lines and a transversal activity. The following items were for turn-in.
We then took a quiz over parallel lines and a transversal. Today we learned about the angle relationships formed when a transversal crosses through parallel lines. We spent the majority of class working on a partner cut-and-paste activity where you solved problems based on those relationships (congruent or supplementary). The homework is due tomorrow and is posted below.
Today you turned in Unit 2A - Review #2. You also took the Unit 2A test.
Tomorrow in class I will pass out missing work reports. You will have until next Wednesday (October 4th) to turn in any Unit 2A missing assignments for credit. After next Wednesday, these assignments will become permanent zeros. Today you had the entire class period to ask questions about the first review. You were also given the Unit 2A - Review #2. This is the one you will be turning in tomorrow before the test. I have signed many people up for study hall to get Review #2 checked off. Please do not forget to attend. Test is tomorrow.
At the beginning of class you turned in the Quadrilaterals Quiz Review if you completed it last night. We then took a quiz over quadrilaterals. When you completed the quiz, you picked up the Unit 2A Test Review. It should be completed over the weekend. Test will be on Tuesday (9/26).
Today in class we plated a review Quadrilaterals Bingo game. This was to help you get ready for the Quadrilaterals Quiz tomorrow. The review sheet is posted below. If you complete the review before the quiz tomorrow and get at least 70% of the questions correct, I will add 5 points onto your Quadrilaterals Quiz.
Today in class we went over Medians (or Midsegments) of Trapezoids. Remember, think of the median as the average of the two sides. The worksheet we did in class is posted below.
At the beginning of class we took a mini-quiz over the properties of parallelograms (this included the rectangle, square, and rhombus). We then took notes on Kites and Trapezoids. For homework tonight you are finishing up whatever problems we did not get to in class.
At the beginning of class you turned in the parallelograms homework. We then reviewed parallelograms with a game called Knockout. This is attached below. or homework, you are finishing up the two riddle worksheets.
